Hill Country land isn’t one job. It’s solid cedar on a slope, mesquite flats, live oaks you’d never cut and limestone ledge right where the driveway needs to go. We run a fleet built for that range, from the Tigercat M726G and a boom-mounted Timberpro to compact D1 mulchers, skid steers and dozers, so the machine fits the ground.
Everything we cut is ground into mulch and left where it falls. No burn piles to babysit, no hauling bills, no scarred topsoil.

Forestry mulching leaves a mulch layer on the ground that shades the soil and slows regrowth. Mesquite is different: anything left above the bud zone comes back thicker, so we grub it out at the root. On the walk-through we’ll tell you honestly what upkeep your acreage will need.
Can you clear around the trees I want to keep?
Yes. That’s selective clearing. You walk the property with a Crosscut owner first and flag what stays, and we match the machine to the job, from the compact D1 mulcher and hand crews under the oaks to the Tigercat on open ground. You can adjust the plan as the land opens up.
How long will my job take?
It depends on the land: how thick the brush is, the size of the trees, the slope and rock, and how selective the plan is. After the walk-through the owner gives you a schedule for your property, and because we run multiple crews and haul our own machines, a large tract isn’t waiting on one machine.
Will taking the cedar out leave my land looking bare?
It usually does the opposite. Once oaks, grasses and wildflowers aren’t competing with cedar for water and light, they come back. The mulch stays on the ground, so there are no burn piles or brush stacks left behind.
Do you work on USDA and NRCS projects?
Yes. We regularly work alongside landowners on USDA and NRCS grant projects and clear to a written habitat or management plan, so we know what the finished ground has to look like.
What does an estimate cost?
Nothing. Every project starts with an on-site visit from a Crosscut owner, not a salesman, so you get a straight plan and a fair price before a machine rolls in. We work Monday through Saturday.
